Is it ok to take photographs at one's own wedding?

I am not a wedding photographer.
I do not consider myself very good at this form of photography.
But I do think wedding ceremonies are wonderful occasions to create brilliant images.
Weddings have moments filled with emotion.
A photographer can stroll amongst the people who are concentrated on the events unfolding and take unique photographs.

A few weeks ago I went to a wedding celebration

A few weeks ago I went to a wedding celebration.
I did bring along a Leica M9 to take photographs if circumstances permitted.

BUT......
« it was impossible for me to take photographs of the groom».

It was impossible for me to take Photographs of the groom.
BECAUSE
I was The groom!

I think wedding photographers must get a bit upset when the guests get in his or her way trying to make images with their cell phones & point and shoot cameras.
So it is with a lot of discretion that on the 8th. of June 2014

I took photographs from behind the scenes of my own wedding.
(Of course most of the photos are of Andan, my wife.)

The wedding can now begin

Of course I did not take photos during my own wedding ceremony.
... The images of which will last forever in my mind and heart.

How beautiful it is to get up and go out and do something. We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different.
